This is my fourth blog on Kit's Wilderness. During the play's intermission, Kit saw Askew calling him and Askew wanted him to go with him to the pits, but Kit refused. During and after the play, however, Kit knew he had to go with him at some point in order to bring him back home. A little while later, Kit and Askew go to the pits and they attempt to make themselves disappear, but Kit calms Askew down and tells him the story of Lak and his journey south to find his family. After that, Askew seems to have changed and becomes Kit's friend. They are eventually rescued by Allie and their story is in the paper, except Allie's part and she's only mentioned in the paper because of the play. At the end, though, Kit's grandpa dies and Askew is gradually improving so that he'd be back in school again. His dad has stopped drinking and is on his own rehabilitation session so he can be a new man. The pits become a historical site to others who want to know of their history and the story comes to a happy end.

Blog number two

This is my second post about Kit's Wilderness by David Almond. After Kit's experiences, he went home with his friend Allie. Later, his teacher asks him to talk to his grandfather about his tales so that Kit could write up a new story. This he was about to do, but later he was being talked to by the head principal, Mr.Chambers, about the Stoneygate pits and what was happening down there. This incident came about after Kit was found by Allie and Mrs. Bush. After all this occurred, Kit's grandpa tells him stories about the pit children and about Silky. A while later, Kit tells his grandpa about Allie and he says she's a keeper and later collapses due to his being at an old age. After that, Mrs. Bush talks about the Ice Age and such matters and tells Kit to start his story and so begins the story about a boy named Lak.

Blog number 1

A few days ago, I started reading a book called Kit's Wilderness. It is an okay book so far, except I don't like the game that Askew thinks up called "Death." How he thought it up and where he got the idea from I'll never know. So far, the story is about a boy named Kit who moves to Stoneygate with his family to be with his grandpa so he wouldn't be lonely. Afterwards, he meets Askew and his gang and participates in the "Death" game, but doesn't die, thankfully. He starts to hang out with Askew and his gang and his friend Allie thinks that they're a bad bunch. Throughout the story, Kit's grandpa tells him stories about his childhood and shows Kit around the neighborhood, especially Askew's place. Kit later plays the death game and actually "dies" and when he comes to, he hears whispering and giggling from the ghosts of the other kids and Askew tells him that he'll be seeing more.
